Accounting Manager

The Investment Real Estate Group of Companies is seeking an Accounting Manager based out
of the home office in York, PA.

The Investment Real Estate Group of Companies (IREGC) is composed of real estate centric
entities focused on the self-storage industry. The various companies provide brokerage
services, property management, development, and construction services, general self-storage
consulting and insurance products. In addition, we own a portfolio of self-storage properties.

The Role:
The Accounting Manager reports to our Controller and will be responsible for overseeing and
managing the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable,
accounts receivable and general ledger. The ideal candidate for this role will be pro-active in
supporting operations and administration and will make positive first impression for the firm’s
customers, vendors, employees, and stakeholders.

Position Requirements:
• Provide direct and indirect supervision to the accounting team
• Ensure department and individual deadlines are met
• Explore and recommend opportunities for process improvement
• Assist in preparation of weekly cash flow analysis
• Assist in the month end close process
• Manage the capitalization of fixed assets to adhere to the company policies and procedures
• Track and reconcile fixed asset general ledger accounts
• Track construction job spending
• Prepare and submit construction job pay applications
• Prepare and review financial statements
• Compile financial reporting packages as required
• Reconcile bank accounts for various entities
• Prepare account reconciliations and investigate variances within deadline
• Calculate allocations of expenses among properties and corporate entities
• Review and approve ACH payments
• Maintain and update procedures and documentation
• Assist in annual budget preparation
• Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Lead ad hoc finance projects
• Help manage company access in various online banking platforms
• Cross train and back up essential operating duties of team members as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
• Possess the ability to work on multiple entities at one time and change gears quickly
• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Willing to work extended hours to meet deadlines as needed
• Must be able to adjust and adapt to changes in the current processes to meet changing needs
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Experience with Sage 100 or similar software preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Real estate experience is a plus, but not required
