The Investment Real Estate Group of Companies is seeking a York based Recruiting Manager to work directly with the COO/CFO.

The Business:

The Investment Real Estate Group of Companies (IREGC) is composed of real estate centric entities focused on the self storage industry. The various companies provide brokerage services, property management, development and construction services and insurance products. The Environment:

IREGC currently employs 70 people overall with 26 of those in the home office. We have converted an old stone grist mill built in 1831 and the adjoining miller’s house into our offices. The setting is pastorial and safe. We run the various businesses using the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) methodology. At times the work can be hectic and other times very mellow; adaptability is key. IREGC employees are team oriented, where all colleagues wear many hats and help each other succeed. The Role:

The Recruiting Manager will be responsible for the entire recruitment and onboarding process at IREGC, working closely with leaders to understand the company culture and needs to support their staffing efforts accordingly. Additionally, the Recruiting Manager will be responsible for developing a staffing strategy to support IREGC’s expansion efforts. The Recruiting Manager will report directly to the COO/CFO and will have the following areas of responsibility:

  • Be the point person to facilitate the hiring and onboarding process
    • Hiring includes posting positions, manager vendor relationships, screening resumes, conducting pre-screening interviews, tracking candidates, following up with candidates, scheduling interviews, hosting feedback meetings, supporting IREGC leaders
    • Onboarding includes finalizing start dates, sending offer letters, facilitating background checks and employee forms, and setting up and granting access in appropriate systems
  • Meeting regularly with all site leadership to understand their immediate, long term and passive needs
  • Recommend and report on recruitment metrics and goals
  • Evaluating IREGC’s current recruiting procedures and making recommendation based on industry best practices and IREGC’s staffing goals
  • Developing and implementing creative recruiting strategies to improve IREGC’s brand
  • Recommend ways for IREGC to broaden their talent pool exposure (ie: job fairs, social media etc)
  • Represent IREGC at job fairs career events, interview days and on campus events, as applicable

Experience:

We’re looking for someone with existing high level experience in this kind of role with a suite of glowing personal references. Self Storage experience is a plus but not required. And of course, a pleasant and engaging personality is a must.

  • Our ideal candidate will:
  • Have 5 years as a full life cycle recruiter, preferable in a corporate setting
  • Knowledge of how to leverage social media and professional networks to develop talent pipelines
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Highly motivated to succeed and grow within the industry
  • Organized with an ability to work multiple transactions at the same time
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship building skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization with performance based goals
  • Possess excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Be confident, innovative, hardworking and bold without arrogance.
