Meet George Hatchard

George Hatchard

George started with Investment Real Estate in 2016 and is based out of the home office in York, PA. He is responsible for self storage brokerage activity throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region, with concentration on Pennsylvania, Maryland and lower New York state. He is involved in all aspects of the real estate transaction from financial analysis of each potential opportunity, signing new listings for the markets he serves and finding buyers for those properties. Being a stickler for details, George stays involved throughout the sales process by overseeing the due diligence process, up to and including rent prorations. He also helps develop feasibility studies when time allows.

Since joining IRE, George has attended numerous state and national association conferences. He is a member of the national Self Storage Association (SSA) and the Pennsylvania Self Storage Association (PASSA). He was also recently named a board member for the Maryland Self Storage Association (MDSSA). George has received many accolades for his handling of clients during his two years with the company.

George spent the previous 28 years in the construction equipment industry, the last 23 as Corporate Accounts Manager with Cleveland Brothers Equipment Company in Harrisburg, PA. George was responsible for the sale and rental of Caterpillar Equipment to the company’s largest National Accounts. In this role, George managed sales and rental revenue in excess of $50 million per year. He also actively participated on many ‘Dealer Advisory Boards’ at Caterpillar.

George is a Pennsylvania native, having grown up in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern PA. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Business Administration – Marketing. While attending IUP, George served as President of his fraternity, Delta Tau Delta and was involved in many on campus philanthropic activities.

George lives in York, PA with his wife Libby and has three daughters; Nicole, Faith and Grace. He enjoys spending time with his family, attending Penn State football games, taking walks with Linc, the family golden retriever, and playing golf. He coached his daughters in both basketball and soccer for over 10 years, but has recently hung up his coaching whistle. George continues to volunteer his time on the York MS Walk planning board as well as volunteering at his daughters’ schools.
