Glen Iley is the director of development and construction for Investment Real Estate Construction (IREC) and joined the team in May 2021. He has been an extremely dependable addition to the Investment Real Estate Group of Companies (IREGC) team and since his start has helped grow the construction team.
Glen brings more than 20 years of commercial facilities and construction experience in both the public and private sectors. He has served in various facility and construction leadership roles, acquiring extensive experience in development, construction, property & facility management in the industrial and commercial industries. He has worked in trucking, self-storage and institutional facilities throughout the country. Glen has over 15 years of experience under his belt managing employees to ensure knowledge of all policies and procedures and proper training all while maintaining productivity.
Glen came to IREGC from Extra Space Storage where he started in 2019 as a facility service manager, overseeing more than 280 stores. At that time, he was handling capital improvement projects with improvement budgets ranging from $10,000 to $2,000,000. Before Extra Space Storage, Glen worked at Realterm NAT as a senior facilities/property manager for 11 years.
Glen also was a part of the United States Navy, where he completed courses on engineering, electrical emergency response, and fire safety. He became a naval training section team leader and SAS supervisor from 1986 to 1990.
Glen completed his Project Management Professional certification in 2016 at Villanova University. He also took courses for biological sciences, business management, general business and economics.
Glen is a Maryland native having grown up in Anne Arundel County where he still resides with his wife Brooke and his youngest son. His daughter, Caitlin, is a junior at Clemson University. Glen enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing golf, boating, grilling, snow skiing and watching his son’s lacrosse games.
