Our Mission

At IRE, we bring an unparalleled level of expertise and service to the self storage industry. The foundation for our success is a team of outstanding professionals working together in an extraordinary culture.

We strive to create a collaborative workplace environment where everyone feels that they have a voice and make an impact. As a rapidly growing company, we encourage all employees to think of ways we can improve our policies and procedures to remain a leader in the industry.

In addition to our core values, we’ve curated a set of 31 fundamentals. We believe that by practicing and applying these fundamentals each and every day we’re able to achieve a version of ourselves that continuously strives to be better than the day before.

We have a space specifically dedicated to our fundamentals, which features a weekly challenge where team members can go to work together. Beyond challenging the mind, it gives people an opportunity to take a break from the task they’re working on and recharge for the next part of their day. The fundamental space also features an ongoing learning library with self-improvement, real estate and culture-focused resources.

Downtown Location, Green Building, and Office Amenities

Our office is located at the entrance to York’s central business district, making it just a few minutes’ walk from a variety of small businesses, York Central Market and Continental Square. Our LEED Platinum-certified building features many energy-efficient amenities and an open-concept floor plan that fosters our culture of cross-departmental collaboration and teamwork.

Celebrations and All Employee Events

Each month, our team gathers in our dedicated celebration space to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and new employees. Our team of “avengers” plan these events alongside our larger all employee events and state-of-the-company meetings that occur quarterly. These events bring together the district managers, property managers and relief managers from all of our Moove In Self Storage locations, giving them a chance to connect with the entire team in our headquarters.

 

Give Back Programs and Community Involvement

We give back to the community through the SSAF Scholarship Foundation, the Gilliland Family Foundation, the Adopt-A-Highway program, and a variety of events in and around the York area throughout the year.

Healthy Lifestyle

Our office features a gym, bike racks and shower, allowing employees to remain active before, during and after the workday. During the warmer months, employees are encouraged to utilize the York Heritage Rail Trail, a hike-and-bike trail that runs parallel to our office. With a variety of dining options available within a few blocks, employees also can walk to grab lunch or a snack and enjoy the fresh air while they do!

Our Space

Since planting our roots at Bentzel’s Mill in rural York, Pennsylvania, we’ve grown exponentially, prompting a move to our new headquarters in downtown York. Our loft-style space features an open floor plan with plenty of meeting and multifunctional space, allowing for easy team member collaboration, better traffic flow and room for the anticipated expansion of our team.

LEED Platinum-Certified Building

  • As a Leadership in Energy and Environmental (LEED) Platinum-certified building, our office holds the highest standard of environmental sustainability.
  • Twenty-five percent of our building consists of recycled materials.
  • We use 11,000 fewer plastic water bottles per year and save 117,000 gallons of water annually.
  • Our restrooms emphasize the use of high-efficiency, low-flow plumbing fixtures, and the second-floor toilets are routed to large composting units that collect human waste and paper to create topsoil.
  • When the building was renovated, 96.77%, or 527 tons, of total construction waste was diverted from landfills.
  • Our lights are controlled using a daylight harvesting system that monitors the amount of light shining through the windows, automatically adjusting dimmers on light fixtures and raising and lowering window shades accordingly.
  • The wood roof decking, steel columns and girders, and wood flooring have been preserved to maintain their historic scars and character.

Open Collaboration Working Spaces

Our open-concept floor plan allows for easy cross-departmental collaboration, while our private meeting rooms provide a space for meetings with vendors, contractors, clients and potential employees. All of our meeting rooms are equipped with video call capabilities and electronic presentation tools.

Gym

While we don’t have the room for a full-sized gym, we have accumulated a variety of free weights, barbells and a functional trainer that allow employees to get in a sweat session whenever it’s convenient for them.

Celebration Room and Kitchen

Once a month, our home office team gathers in the dedicated celebration space to recognize new employees, as well as employee birthdays, anniversaries and milestones. Our office also features a fully equipped kitchen featuring three microwaves, an oven, a full-sized refrigerator and freezer and an eight-burner range stove, plus several coffee makers and an espresso machine. Upstairs, there is a smaller kitchen with a mini fridge, sink, coffee maker and microwave. These amenities allow us to prepare fresh meals, bake and cook dishes for our celebrations, and host cooking classes and events.

 

Downtown York

Situated at the entrance of York City’s central business district and adjacent to WellSpan Park, our employees are within walking distance to downtown amenities, including the York Central Market, numerous restaurants and Continental Square. This prime location allows us to patronize and support other local businesses.
