IRE and Moove In Self Storage are strong proponents of giving back to the community. We do that through a variety of philanthropic initiatives and donations to support the York community, company employees and areas we serve.
Both our home office and field teams participate in a variety of give-back programs throughout the year. We participate in the Adopt-A-Highway program through the annual clean-up of Greenbriar Road in York. During the holidays, our team members collect food donations for the York County Food Bank. To celebrate IREGC’s 25th anniversary in April 2023, we donated $25,000 to 25 York-based nonprofits ($1,000 each) to show our appreciation for their work in our community. Learn more here.
Denise DelGrosso Gilliland, wife of John Gilliland, founded Pink Power which is a 501(c)(3) organization that raises money and awareness for local breast cancer patients in need and brings people together to celebrate survivors and share stories of hope. Moove In Self Storage is a gold sponsor for the annual Pink Power event.
The Self Storage Association Foundation Scholarship is a member benefit available to employees (or their children/grandchildren) of companies that are national members of the SSA. CEO John Gilliland has personally served on the SSAF Board of Governors and was the chair in 2017. Several Moove In Self Storage property managers have been awarded SSAF scholarships. Each year, all Moove In Self Storage employees and their family members are encouraged to apply.
John and his wife, Denise, have personally contributed over $60,000 to the SSAF Scholarship fund through the Gilliland Family Foundation. In addition to their contributions to the fund, they’ve committed a dollar-for-dollar match for each award won by Moove In Self Storage employees and their families.
